Otter Cave Hammock Trail
Description:
A rough limestone trail through a tropical hardwood forest with small footbridges over a small stream. Check at the Shark Valley Visitor Center for current conditions of trail, it sometimes can be flooded during the summer.
Directions:
Shark Valley Visitor Center is located on Highway 41 (Tamiami Trail / SW 8th St.) 25 miles west of the Florida Turnpike, exit 25A (from the north) and exit 25 (from the south). From the Naples area, take U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail) approximately 70 miles east to Shark Valley. The trail begins 0.5 miles (800 meters) behind the visitor center, off the tram road.
